After watching The Pink Panther make a mess of his pizza, self, and kitchen, the Nourishing Kids’ class kiddos and I decided to make a pizza real easy-like with no baking necessary…Raw pizza day was awesome!!
We discussed what makes food raw vs. cooked and why both types are good for our bodies. Each of us talked about our favorite pizza ingredients and how we like our perfect pizza bite! I explained how pizza dough is normally made from flour and water and how you have to bake it to get it crunchy and cooked through. Then I shared that we were going to do it differently, our pizza crust was raw and included ingredients such as: flax seeds, sunflower seeds, almonds, bell peppers, herbs and spices. YUM.
Everything was raw and in its natural state– except for our favorite tomato sauce:
Laid out before the kids were a variety of different fresh and raw pizza ingredients: mushrooms, spinach, onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, olives, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds.
We all made our own perfect pizza bites.
We set aside our pizza for snack time and decided it was important to tell our moms and dads how much we like veggie pizza and how fun it is to make. In order to do this, we needed to document it so they would know how to recreate our perfect pizza at home…
What a great day!!
Have fun making homemade pizza and until next week…….eat lots of veggies!
